We are looking to fill the following 3 job positions:

  1. Landscape Foreman

Job Overview:

The candidate will be responsible for the management and oversight of a landscape installation crew which will also include physical labor. The foreman will be responsible for executing approved contracts and plans and implementing high-end residential landscapes. This person is expected to collaborate with the GN supervisor, interact with the client, landscape architects, and coordinate with other contractors and trades. The start date for this position is approximately March 1, 2016.

Qualifications & Responsibilities:

2-4 year college degree in horticulture, landscape construction or related field and approximately 4 years’ experience in this position.

 

Plant identification, horticultural expertise, pruning experience, grading/ drainage experience.

 

Ability to read, interpret and implement landscape plans.

 

Proficient in operating skid steer, preferable backhoe and mini excavator experience.

 

Leadership skills, ability to effectively lead 2 other people and execute plans in efficient manner.

 

Drivers license a requirement, ideally able to drive larger trucks with manual transmission

 

Excellent communication and organizational skills necessary.

 

CDL Class A or B highly recommended with air brake endorsement.

 

Candidate must be physically fit and will be expected to perform labor tasks while leading crews.

 

Candidate must be able to pass a drug test paid for by GN.

 

  1. Fine Garden Maintenance Manager & Sales

Job Overview:

The candidate will be responsible for the continuing oversight of existing landscape fine garden maintenance accounts and contracts, growing new accounts, and managing/ scheduling maintenance crews. This position will be split between field work, office work and sales to new clients. This is a full time position and the candidate is expected to start this position as soon as possible, winter 2016.

Qualifications & Responsibilities:

2-4 year college degree in horticulture, landscape construction or related field and at least 5 years’ experience in similar position.

 

Computer proficiency familiar with MS office, especially excel, word and outlook.

 

Proficient experience required in plant identification, horticultural expertise, pruning experience, container planting, extensive annual & perennial understanding.

 

Develop maintenance plans and contracts for existing and new clients.

 

Coordinate crew scheduling, materials, and equipment needs with other landscape departments

 

This person is expected to interact with the client, landscape architects, and coordinate with other contractors and trades.

 

Excellent communication and organizational skills necessary.

 

Experience with developing plant nutrition programs ideal.

 

Candidate will ideally have experience in identifying and diagnosing plant pests and diseases.

 

Coordinate subcontractors – In certain circumstances coordinate with clients contractors or GN subcontractors such as irrigation contractors, arborists, lawn cutters, etc.

 

Candidate must be physically fit and will be expected to perform labor tasks while leading crews.

 

Candidate must be able to pass a drug test paid for by GN.

 

  1. Operator/ CDL Class ‘A’ Driver/ Landscaper

Job Overview:

The candidate will be primarily responsible for hauling equipment and materials in a Class-A tandem axle roll off truck with secondary responsibilities including backhoe/ landscape equipment operation. This is a seasonal position with approximate work dates from March 1 through December 1, 2016

Qualifications & Responsibilities:

A minimum of 2 years’ experience driving a Class-A tandem axle

 

Experience hauling equipment trailer, loading and securing equipment and materials in accordance with state laws and Penndot regulations.

 

Proficient machine operator especially backhoe, skid steerer and mini excavator.

 

Clean motor vehicle record.

 

Candidate will ideally have experience in maintaining and upkeep of equipment and vehicles and assist in fleet management.

 

Candidate must be physically fit and will occasionally be responsible for assisting landscapers when not driving or operating equipment.

 

Candidate must be able to pass a drug test paid for by GN.
